What a wonderful Easter weekend we had! Our family came in to visit from Kentucky for the baptism of our sweet girls, June and Georgia.
On Saturday my husband and I cooked up a scrumptious Easter dinner using recipes from April’s issue of Southern Living. I have been wanting to host a family dinner like this for a while and although I was a bit nervous about it all coming together I’m so glad we did it.
We made roasted leg of lamb that came from our local butcher, roasted root vegetables, cheese grits soufflé, and a fresh green salad. For dessert we had a bourbon pound cake- yum! We cooked for most of the day but it was SO worth it 🙂
Here is my Easter table all dressed up. We brought out the china since I rarely use it with all my brown transferware. It looked so pretty for Spring. As a little centerpiece I took a cheese stand with glass cloche top and filled with moss from our yard and eggs.
The girls had so much fun with their grandparents and had a blast with few different Easter egg hunts. They especially enjoyed the Easter treats, books, bunnies, and other goodies in their Easter baskets. But the greatest joy of the weekend is the hope we have in Christ for He is Risen!
