Debra Wakins, M.Ed., MA

Debra Watkins is the Founder Emerita and Director of Strategic Partnerships at A Black Education Network (ABEN),
a broad national network serving thousands of students through Saturday STEM Academies and related education
and cultural program and activities to ensure Black students reach their full potential.

She also created the Dr. Frank S. Greene Scholars Program (GSP) with 100% of its students enrolling in college, 90% graduating in four years with a BS or BA degree, and 60% of those degrees in STEM fields (eight times the national average for Black students).

For thirty-five years, Ms. Watkins served the East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD) of San Jose in various roles through which she empowered African American students, teachers, and principals. Source: Debra Watkins
